Riding out East from Macon and traveling toward Chamonix - Suggest a stop over for lunch there, perhaps near Agantierre, which is one of the best skiing areas. By-passing the Mont-Blanc Tunnel and travelling to the Simplon Pass in Switzerland.

A fantastic day riding although quite eventful. Took the fast route from Macon towards Chamonix but Toby was down to 9kms before fuel ran out. Just managed to freewheel into a service station to fill the bike.
We then headed toward Chamonix on a stunning duel carriage way and got off in Les Housh, which was P&C’s 1st skiing trip together. Excellent coffee in a very trendy bar, it starting to get very cold due to the height.
Ride through Chamonix, stopping at the hotel P&C get engaged in (well technically that was skiing on the mountains overlooking Mt Blanc) but it’s where they stayed. Fantastic route out of Chamonix past Agantierre and out into the valleys crossing over to Switzerland.
Simplon Pass was incredible, even though P’s bike blew something and we had to have a rest to allow it to cool. Going to write a strongly worded letter to Halliwell Jones in Chester who were supposed to have rectified the fault. Anyway landed in Mergozza which is a stunning little village and well chosen hotel by the lake. This was a genius find on booking.com. Cheap as chips but really stunning, situated right by the side of a small Lake Guarda!!!
So here is the point the tour went "south" and has to finish - the bagger has blown the water, due (now that we have had the diagnostics) to the radiator being clogged. We had an overheating engine checked out by our Motorrad dealer prior to travelling, along with having a motor service, but they have apparently missed the fact that the radiator wasn't cooling the engine down, so our holiday is now coming to a close!!!
The waring light says, check water coolant, I can ride the bike to a service centre, but carefully, which I did! This picture is at the top of the Simplon Pass!! Fortunately all own hill from here so we can coast
The bagger is now sitting in "Bike House" Varese and this is where it is going to be repatriated to Haliwell Jones in Chester so they can mend what they should have done prior to us leaving on a 4,500 mile tour!!! Not that I'm really pissed off!!!!!!!
Toby rode to the Bolzona hotel early and we followed once we had a car approves by BMW!
Drove out in a car!!!!! great place to stop for lunch.
Travelling to Milano airport and stopped at this little restaurant in the middle of nowhere - fantastic place, but by God did Giovani know how to charge!!!!
Shite airport hotel for the Critch's! We'll still make the most of it though.
Living the dream!!!!!! Crumpled pizza in the room! Lucky bugger!
Whilst Toby remains in the Napura Hotel enjoying their fantastic food!
So, end of tour - no need to continue from this point, as it hasn't happened - the next bit is just "Billy on Tour" Toby riding home alone..............
